Privacy policy

The short version: the macOS app does not collect your personal data. The product website only stores an email if you choose to join the waitlist.

What the app does

FlowBar is a macOS menu bar app that streams audio from YouTube URLs you paste or send from the optional Firefox add-on. Playback traffic goes to the stream’s content delivery network. The Firefox add-on talks to a loopback listener on your machine so it can hand a link to the app.

What we don’t collect (the app)

  • No accounts or sign-in
  • No analytics, advertising, or crash telemetry phoned home to us
  • No sale or sharing of personal information with third parties for marketing

Website waitlist

If you join the waitlist on this website, we store the email address you submit (and when you submitted it) so we can notify you when FlowBar is available. We use Supabase (a hosted database provider) to store that data. We do not use waitlist emails for unrelated marketing, and you can ask us to remove your address by contacting us.

What stays on your device

Playback state, preferences, and any local history live on your Mac. The optional Firefox add-on may store minimal settings in the browser’s extension storage on your machine. That data is not sent to us.

Third-party services

When you play a YouTube URL, your connection goes to YouTube / Google infrastructure (and related CDNs) under their terms and privacy practices. FlowBar is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.

This website is a static product page. Waitlist submissions are sent to Supabase. If hosting or CDN providers log standard server requests (IP, user agent, etc.), that is ordinary infrastructure logging—not product analytics we run.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
